Use your natural processes to change how you've viewed the past

· Oliver Grantham

Here are some of the ways that I incorporate NLP techniques into the work I do with my clients.

And you know, the way the mind works is that our memories are encoded for you to believe that what you believe about those memories, when you recall them, are the way in which it happened.

But a bit like recording or memorizing anything, the integrity, the truthfulness is distorted.

And so these techniques in different ways help you to review and in the same time doing change your perspective in a better way than has been the case in the past, into a different way, which helps you to have a new, in many cases brand new, uplifting, positive and resourceful new understanding of the memory you’ve been carrying with you.

And for beginners, I’d recommend trying the submodalities shifting because it’s one of the self activities that I often get my clients to do, which has had the most impact because it’s the easiest to do with minimum of guidance.

And you might want to give it a try with a memory that’s not too negatively powerful for you, but just try it with a smaller intensity or middling type of memory in terms of the effect that it currently has on you and see how that changes.

Coming up in the next micro podcast is a guided exercise that can take you through and help you more with finding your own way to try submodalities shifting.

And remember the power for you to change is already inside you.
